NVIDIA Jetson IMX708 Driver Toolkit

A from-scratch Linux camera-driver toolkit that brought the Arducam IMX708 to JetPack 6.2 on the Jetson Orin Nano.

System

Built as a separate open-source project while I was prototyping V1 of AIC on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit. The Arducam IMX708 had no usable JetPack 6.2 driver, so I built the missing Linux kernel and device-tree path instead of changing cameras or freezing the platform on an older release. The resulting MIT-licensed toolkit packages the driver source, overlays, build and diagnostic scripts, validation tooling, and installation documentation for anyone facing the same hardware gap.

Constraint

The IMX708 camera had no working JetPack 6.2 support for the Jetson Orin Nano, blocking a widely available camera module from being used in current embedded vision projects.

Contribution

Used Claude Code over SSH as a pair programmer while tracing kernel source, build failures, device-tree overlays, camera registration, and V4L2 behavior. Built the driver from source, added repeatable build and validation scripts, documented the installation path, and open-sourced the complete toolkit so other Jetson builders could reuse and improve it.
